Determination of Oil Content in Oilseeds by Analytical Supercritical Fluid Extraction

چکیده

The total oil content of soyflakes, canola seed and wetmilled corn germ were determined by analytical supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) with carbon dioxide as the extraction solvent. Results obtained by SFE were in excellent agreement with those obtained by a conventional Soxhlet technique with organic solvents. The analyticalscale SFE technique yielded average means within one standard deviation of the means derived from the organic solvent-based methodology. Matrices containing both high and low oil content were successfully extracted with carbon dioxide at comparable precision to that obtained with the standard procedure. The supercritical fluid-based technique appears to be a suitable replacement for traditional extraction methods with organic solvents, thereby potentially eliminating the costs associated with solvent disposal and exposure of laboratory personnel to toxic and flammable solvents.

Determination of fat content in foods by analytical SFE

Analytical supercritical fluid extraction (WE) is finding widespread application in the analysis of foodstuffs, agriculturally derived materials, and natural products. The high efficacy that SE demonstrates toward the removal of oils and fats from such matrices makes it a natural technique for the determination of their fat and oil content. In this review, we have highlighted what is essential ...

Response surface methodology for optimization of supercritical fluid extraction of orange peel essential oil

Background: Orange peel essential oils were obtained using supercritical fluid extraction. This method is an important high scaling extraction methods that used for extraction of plant and animal extracts. Methodology: The experimental parameters of SFE such as temperature, pressure, and extraction time and modifier volume were optimized using a central composite design after a 24-1fractional ...

Sub and Supercritical Decontamination of Oil-Based Drill Cuttings: A Review

Drill mud is a fluid which is used in oil extraction industries in order to cool and lubricate the drill bit. Due to containing numerous toxic components, it is considered as a hazardous waste which must be treated before discharging to the environment. Current separation techniques for drill cutting treatment can be categorized into three main categories of physical (dewatering), physiochemica...
